   magalismontanum    (Transvaal Milkplum)  manumbela,
      Timber: Good building wood
      Firewood: Fuelwood
      Medicinal: Infusions of root & fruit for epilepsy. Powdered roots rubbed into forehead incision for headaches.
      Food: Edible fruit with high Vitamin C content. Good for wine, syrup & jelly.
   natalense    (Natal Milkplum)  umtshongane,
   natalense    (Natal Milkplum)  emanumbela,  manumbela,  umtjongane,
      Timber: Wood for fencing posts and hut building.
      Household: Wood for various handicrafts, furniture & milking buckets.
      Food: Edible fruit with high Vitamin C content. Good for wine, syrup & jelly.

      Timber: Wood is hard, tough & useful.
      Medicinal: Bark is used as emetic.

      Dyes: Bark used for tanning.
      Household: Fighting sticks. Wielded by dancers at Incwala ceremonies. Wood used for cattle troughs, spoons, headrests & tobacco pipes.
      Medicinal: Roots & bark for stomach pain, diarrhoea, rashes & as emetic. A tea made from it is a famous African medicine - ingwavuma.
      Food: Edible fruit
