      Timber: Timber especially for boats.
      Household: Beautiful yellowood furniture.
      Medicinal: Used in traditional medicine
      Food: Edible fruit.
   henkelii   
      Timber: Fine timber with wide range of uses
      Household: Beautiful yellowood furniture.
   latifolius   
      Timber: Fine timber which seasons well. Used especially for flooring.
      Household: Beautiful yellowood furniture.
Pinus
   elliottii *   
      Timber: Poles & pulp
   patula var. patula *    (Mexican Yellow Pine)  sipheshula,  siphesikhulu,
      Timber: Poles & pulp
Potamogeton
   crispus    (Wavy-leaved Pondweed)  isaswane,
Pycreus
   nitidus     ikhwane,  intsekane,
      Household: Rhizomes for necklaces and as perfume.
      Medicinal: Medicinal for chest colds.

      Household: Leaves for basketry, weaving & sunhats. Stems for brooms & brushes.
      Food: Edible fruit & leaves. Sap for beer/cider, usually drunk in the forest.

      Medicinal: Medicinal for diarrhoea. Seeds as snuff.

      Food: Spicy berries.. Was main source of pepper - now from Piper nigrum.

      Household: Bark used for fibre for rope or string. Crushed leaves for a soap.
      Medicinal: Medicinal to dilate birth canal in Zimbabwe.
Protea   sidlungu,
   caffra    (Common Sugarbush)  indlunge,  sicalabane,
      Dyes: Bark for tanning leather.
      Firewood: Excellent firewood
      Medicinal: Bark used in traditional medicine for bleeding ulcers. Roots & flowers used for deworming and for psychois.
