Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Cyperus sexangularis - Up to c 1 cm high, leaves reduced to sheaths. Stem with c 6 ridges. Inflorescence much branched, rather compact, surrounded by c 10 rather stiff erect-spreading leaf-like bracts which exceed it in length. Spikelets numerous, grouped in clusters of few, up to c 8 mm long X 2 mm wide, greyish-brown; glumes very closely set.
