Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Stomatostemma monteiroae - Tall scrambling climber. Hairless throughout. Leaves opposite or irregular, tapering to both ends, up to 10 cm long X 1,2 cm wide. Inflorescence loose, few-flowered. Calyx divided almost to base, c 4 mm long, lobes broad and blunt; corolla 7,5 cm long, tube wide open, lobes longer than tube, greyish or ivory-coloured. Fruit-halves hanging, rough, woody, blunt, up to 10 cm long x 3 cm wide. Seed tip with plume of silky hairs up to 4 cm long.
