Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Asparagus africanus - Stem woody, twining, up to 3 m long or forming low bushes, much branched, branches spreading or recurved. Cladodes in clusters usually of c eight, up to 1 cm long. Spines up to 1 cm long, spurred. Inflorescences axillary. Perianth segments white, up to 3,5 mm long. Fruit red, c 6 mm diam, one-seeded.
