Swaziland National Trust Commission

The Finance Department

The Finance Manager heads the department, providing its strategic vision, and is responsible for accurate keeping of all SNTC accounts.

SNTC's revenue is generated from tourism related activities, including:

  • Entrance fees into the Museum, King Sobhuza II Memorial Park, plus sale of post cards and small donations.
  • Entrance fees from Malolotja, Mlawula and Mantenga Nature Reserves.
  • Accommodation units in Mlawula, Mlawula and Mantenga Nature Reserves.
  • Other products in the reserves, including camping fees, trails, game drives, sale of firewood, post cards, t-shirts, plus donations.
  • The major revenue comes from Government Subvention and SNTC cannot sustain itself with the revenue generated from the internal sources only.

Donor Funding

Over the years, the SNTC has been assisted by donor funding from a variety of sources.

The Natural History Society of Swaziland and the Conservation Trust have supported the SNTC with funding for various projects for over thirty years, including publication of checklists and tourist maps, equipment, construction of a bird hide at Mlawula, tree name tags, the Community Outreach Programme at Malolotja, and assorted research projects.
